With Valentine's Day just around the corner, a story like this is just fitting.
Matthew Wong, 50, has proven chivalry isn't dead. It's a myth. Wong, obviously not the brightest bulb on the tree, decided to track his wife down after she fled his abusive behavior.
Little did he know, Karma was hot on his tail.
Mr. Wong found the apartment his estranged wife had been hiding out at, and tried to douse it in gasoline. His lack of hand-eye coordination proved to get the best of him, as he inadvertenly doused HIMSELF with gasoline as he was trying to light the very fire he planned to eliminate his poor wife.
Neighbors heard this lunatic screaming "I'm gonna kill you" at the top of his lungs, as he chased Mrs. Wong with a container full of a flammable liquid. As they were calling the police, the neighbors grabbed an elderly woman and pulled her into safety as Mr. Wong was spraying the liquid on anything he could.
After a short struggle, he pulled out a lighter and as he was about to set Mrs. Wong on fire, she free herself, and managed to get the lighter to make contact with his own gasoline doused shirt.
Matthew received severe burns all over his body, and was rushed to the Tampa Regional Hospital.
