Funeral for fallen Fire Fighter Scheduled

Pompano Beach - Every Fire Fighter serves their community and their country, without question. They work hard, day in and day out. Exposed to the worst elements imaginable, they also have to train just hard to stay on their toes.
The loss of Pompano Beach Fire Fighter/EMT William Joseph "Jumbo" Elliott is a reminder of just that. Elliot, 49, passed away on January 6th, from a fall during a training exercise. Fire Fighters from all over the state are coming to pay their respects to the 29-year-veteran and The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. The viewing will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 138 NE 1st Street, Pompano Beach, Florida 33060, (954) 943-3355. The funeral will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 2401 West Cypress Creek Road, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309, (954) 970-8759.
