Man shot trying to sell car

Boynton Beach - Imagine you are ready to finally part ways with that old car sitting in the driveway. You slap a "For Sale" sign on it and hope someone will love that car as much as you did.

That is not the case for one South Florida man.

Police say this older gentleman was approached by a potential buyer interested in the vehicle. When he was asked for a test drive, he kindly obliged.

What followed next was absolutely ridiculous. The buyer turned out to be nothing but a common criminal who pulled a gun on the old man. If he thought this was going to be an easy stickup, he was wrong.

The owner put up quite a fight and revealed a knife he had hidden in his walking cane. After striking his attacker several times, and suffering a gunshot wound to the upper left chest, the assailant gave up and took off.

When officers got there, they found the car's owner leaning up on the car, smoking a cigarette, and ready for round two with that wanna be tough guy. He was transported to the hospital and he's expected to be just fine.

This old guy handled that situation like a boss. Another example of how not to just be a victim. Stand up for yourself if you can.
