Powerball Tickets Double in Price
Hopesville, USA - These days, nothing is safe from the grips of inflation. We have watched prices of goods and services skyrocket with the diminishing outlook on our economy.
Now, the most sacred pseudo-savior of the wishful thinker is joining the fray. Powerball officials announced they are going to raise the price of tickets from $1 per ticket to $2. This becomes official starting January 15th, 2012. Officials claim this is an effort to raise interest in the population and to inflate the winnings as well. Doubling the cost of each ticket has them estimating a huge increase in tickets sold as the jackpots have almost doubled on average over the last six years. According to sources, the winning jackpot will change from $20 Million to $40 Million. Also, hitting all five numbers and not the Powerball number itself will change from $200,000 to a cool $1 Million. Not too shabby. Some people are already crying fowl saying they may not play as frequent or at all. However, as history as shown, if you tease the public with a chance to become rich, they will eventually buy into the idea. What are your thoughts? Share them below. |
