Good afternoon all, and welcome to InfoSack.com's "The Glory Hole." In what was intended to be a blog documenting my own childish hijinks and immature ramblings, I've decided to dedicate my inaugural post on a topic that should be in the forefront of discussion and should reach the heights of media coverage rivaling that of the Anthony trial and the sad event of the child's all too unfortunate fate.
Initially, I had no intention of ever documenting or publishing my thoughts on the slaying of Trayvon Martin, as my opinions follow the general public’s sentiments: he was unmercifully murdered, and George Zimmerman is nothing more than a criminal. He is biding his time until justice is finally served either by the authorities “sworn to protect the innocent” or by vigilante means with tired citizens taking matters into their own hands.
Earlier this afternoon I found myself reading a report by NBC News which absolutely floored me, bringing me to a point of disgust I’ve never felt before. The information apparently being leaked by the Sanford Police Department documenting Trayvon being the aggressor in this attack are preposterous, and the fact that they are stating that this shitbag Zimmerman was acting in self-defense blows my mind. The report states that Trayvon walked up to Zimmerman and cold-cocked him in the nose knocking him down, then proceeded to beat Zimmerman’s head into the ground repeatedly. Therefore, acting in “self-defense,” Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon. How can one even fathom the idea that a 17 year-old kid is the criminal in this case?
I urge everyone with even an iota of common sense to think logically about this matter: you’re a teenager in a foreign neighborhood walking back to the house you’re visiting...some creeper in an SUV who swears he’s Steven Seagal approaches you (probably yelling some racist obscenities at your direction, like I don’t know “fucking coons”), feeling cornered and fearing that this guy is out to hurt or molest you, you take action and defend yourself.
I find it hard to believe that young Trayvon randomly ran up to this man and beat him senseless.
Furthermore, NBC’s report states that Zimmerman’s apparent injuries were minor, and he didn’t seek treatment until the next day. This tells me that in any case, Zimmerman was in no immediate danger of losing his life, therefore used excessive and unnecessary force in taking aim and killing Trayvon.
The Sanford Police Department has mucked up this investigation, and has abandoned a mourning family choosing to vilify a young man, in my opinion, for no other reason than him being black.
My heart honestly goes out to the Martin family. This is another tragic event in Florida's history, and I pray justice is truly served on behalf of the family and friends Trayvon left behind.
